Anti Social Behaviour , Carlton |
||
|
Please be advised that North Yorkshire Police have received a report of anti-social behaviour in the village of Carlton.
Whilst this is the first report to Police, we have been informed that further concern has been raised by residents on local social media channels.
Issues have concerned three young males, approx.. 14yrs gathering at the Co –Op in the hours of darkness on their cycles, displaying no lights and being abusive.
Other reports have involved three young males playing knock a door run.
Currently, the identity of the young people is unknown.
We encourage that any incident of anti-social behaviour is reported to NYP on 101 at the time that it is happening to give officers the best chance of encountering those young people present.
Your local team will continue to work on identifying any young people involved in reported anti-social behaviour and take any required follow up action which will start with them being spoken to in front of parents.
To be clear, we will not move children and young people on who are not causing issues. Their presence alone is not an issue in most circumstances.
However, some youngsters can find themselves getting drawn into anti-social behaviour and their safety is of paramount importance to us.
Any behaviour that spills over into criminal acts such as criminal damage or assaults will be treated very seriously and offenders can expect to face action.
Please can we encourage you to speak to your children and ensure that they are choosing friendship circles wisely whilst out and about in the village and please ensure that they have lights on their cycles as a matter of urgency to help to keep them safe?
Please be reminded that E – Scooters are not permitted to be ridden anywhere other than on private land.
Thank you, | ||
