#Arrest
Tonight our eagle eyed PCSO from the Leigh neighbourhood team has been doing laps of the town centre and come across not only one but two persons who were wanted by ourselves.
A male aged 31 has been arrested on recall to prison and will be transferred back to custody.
A female aged 47 has been arrested on suspicion of three theft from shop offences. She currently remains in police custody awaiting questioning.
In the year to September, GMP recorded 3,576 arrests for shoplifting – equating to around 300 a month.
In that same time period, there were 840 fewer shoplifting crimes, with a further 1,400 more solved outcomes for the same offence than last year.
