Op Sceptre - Tackling Knife Crime

Good Afternoon,

Today is the start of Op Sceptre. This is a national initiative across the country dedicated to tackling Knife Crime.

Throughout this week your local Neighbourhood Policing Teams will be taking part in various activities including educating our younger community about Knives and the law.

Some facts:

If you carry a knife you are much more likely to use it and get stabbed yourself.

Police can stop and search anyone they believe is carrying a knife.

Carrying a knife without good reason may get you a sentence of up to 4 years.

You are committing a crime pretending to have a real knife or gun.

You may get arrested even if you are carrying a knife for someone else.
