Safer Business Action Week (SaBA) 2025 - Westminster Town Centre Team |
||
|
Last week, the Westminster Town Centre Teams were actively involved in the Safer Business Action Week (SaBA) 2025 whereby police and partners unite to tackle business and retail crime nationwide.
For SABA week, we made 21 arrests and conducted 36 stop and searches.
We jointly worked with a number of our trusted partners including Safer Business Network, New West End Company (NWEC), West End Security Group, Heart of London Business Alliance, My Local Bobby (MLB), Westminster Council and Saber Security.
Throughout the week we conducted joint visits to retailers and businesses offering reassurance and listening to their concerns, we conducted several joint patrols with street security teams from NWEC and MLB around Leicester Square, Chinatown, Regent Street and Oxford Street.
Additionally, we were part of a partnership crime prevention stall in Carnaby Street and Leicester Square with Safer Business Network and Westminster Council.
Also we policed the Carnaby Street and Covent Garden Christmas lights switch on events.
I am really thankful to Safer Business Network for facilitating this action week and also for identifying 37 of our unidentified business crime suspects following our new Information Sharing Agreement (ISA) that we have in place.
The joint working approach between the local Policing teams and our partners we have is absolutely vital in bringing down crime, reassuring the public and getting more offenders in front of the courts to face justice!
We cant do it alone, but together we are making the West End a safer place for all who visit, reside, work and commute here. | ||
