I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - them from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. We have recently received reports of vehicle-related crime in the BEECHWOOD area. As your local Police Community Support Officer, I want to take this opportunity to raise awareness and share some practical steps you can take to help protect your vehicle and belongings. What’s Happening? There has been an increase in incidents involving theft from vehicles, particularly during the evening and overnight hours. In most cases, offenders are targeting vehicles that have been left unlocked or have valuables visible inside. How You Can Help Prevent Vehicle Crime: To reduce the risk of becoming a victim, please consider the following safety tips:
Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only leaving it for a short time. Remove all valuables from your car when unattended – this includes sat navs, mobile phones, bags, and loose change. Do not leave items on display, even if you think they are not valuable. Park in well-lit, busy areas whenever possible. If you have a driveway, use it, and consider installing motion-sensor lighting or CCTV. Use additional security devices, such as steering wheel locks or car alarms, to deter thieves. Report any suspicious activity to the police immediately by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
We are increasing patrols in the area and working closely with local residents to address these concerns. Your vigilance and cooperation are vital in helping us keep Beechwood safe. If you have any concerns or would like further advice on vehicle security, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me directly. Thank you for your continued support.
