Fordbridge newsletter
Good morning, residents.
I hope you all have had a safe and enjoyable bonfire night and are continuing to stay vigilant in the coming weeks to the Christmas season.
Our team have had a busy set and have been keeping an eye on our ASB hotspots such as the bus interchange, town centre, and surrounding areas. We have also been patrolling Fordbridge to provide reassurance and to help keep you all safe.
This week, it was Safer Business Action week, and during this time, officers have had an increased presence on the town centre, engaging with shop staff, security guards, and the public. Officers have been offering crime prevention advice and conducting arrest enquiries with prolific offenders.
Our team have placed one male under arrest for recall to prison, who is also a prolific shoplifter, and he is currently assisting with our enquiries.
It was also Remembrance Day on the 11th of November where local community members, security guards, shop staff, and our team observed a two-minute silence on the town centre
Our team were also alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked in Marston Green train station – upon officers’ arrival and investigation, the vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen and was seized forensically and will be returned to the owner in due course.
Speaking of seizing vehicles, officers had come across a stolen moped being ridden on Bosworth Drive and Tile Cross road – upon seeing officers, the offenders had ditched the moped and fled the area on foot, not before being recorded on our officers’ bodycams. Officers had then seized the moped after it was dumped by the offenders.
Officers were also in Lily’s Tea Parlour for a Cuppa with a Coppa from 12PM to 1PM. It was absolutely amazing to see so many of you come up to our officers just to have chat and arise any issues you have been experiencing.

Can you help? We are still looking for volunteers to help with Community Speed Watch. Whilst monitoring our local roads and collating data over the last 4 – 6 weeks, I would say Cooks Lane is particularly in need of regular speed monitoring. Is this something you would like to join in with? Are you a resident on Cooks Lane or surrounding roads and would like to help us tackle this concern? If the answer is YES drop me a reply to this message.
