Event to crack down on fly tipping in Cornwall Our rural affairs officer, PC Clarke Orchard, recently teamed up with Cornwall Council to tackle fly tipping in a bid to protect our beautiful county. A fake fly-tip was set up at Golitha Falls to raise awareness with passers-by about the impact of dumping waste and how easy it is to report. Not only is it an eye sore, but fly-tipping can have links to organised criminality as well as environmental consequences and financial implications; all of which cause harm in our communities. So here's what to do if you spot fly tipping: - Report it to your local council - If it's large scale, contact the Environment Agency - If waste is causing an obstruction on a road or a fly-tipping crime is in progress, call us on 999 - You can also report 100% anonymously via Crimestoppers Thank you to everyone who stopped to find out more! Together, we can all play our part in protecting the environment and keeping our communities clean.
