Dear Beaumont Manor resident I am one of the Neighbourhood Watch, Ward Coordinators for Woodhall Ward, which you fall within, and I would like your help to get a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in place for Beaumont Manor. I can see that you have signed up for the great Neighbourhood Alerts facility to get regular email updates directly from the Police regarding community safety, crime, scams etc in our local area. You can also signpost friends and neighbours to this using the “Sign Up” section in this link: https://hertsconnected.co.uk/
Neighbourhood Alerts are mainly messages from the Police and whoever you selected when you join, but once you are signed up, you can opt to join Neighbourhood Watch but there needs to be a scheme for your area. It would be great to see a community spirit from the very beginning within Beaumont Manor and to get a formal Neighbourhood Watch Scheme set up so that you will get the full benefits of being a member and receive messages from directly within your community.
To do this, we need a volunteer or preferably two, to become scheme coordinator and deputy, people who live in and know Beaumont Manor well and can communicate specific messages relevant to your area to your members. I appreciate that the area is developing and will quickly grow in numbers which is why it is important to get a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme set up as early as possible.
It is not a difficult task at all, you can very much make it your own, doing just as much as you are able to commit to, in order to help your community become a better, safer place to live.
We have had a successful scheme running on nearby Woodhall Farm for over 35 years. We have just got a volunteer for Swallowfields new scheme and will be seeking similar volunteers for Hunters Oak, and Cherry Tree Grove. I am happy to support new coordinators throughout their initial induction and setting up their scheme so please let me know, by using the “reply” link below if you would like more information.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards Sue Ferguson |
