A woman was charged with shoplifting after a PCSO on her way to work spotted a suspected theft. PCSO Casey Phillips was on her way to Hatfield Police Station when she stopped by Tesco in Oldings Corner. Casey witnessed a suspected shoplifting and identified the suspect as somebody who was believed to have stolen from Hatfield Aldi a few days earlier. Officers were called to the area and Jessica Power, aged 28, of Cunningham Avenue in Hatfield, was arrested in Comet Way. Hundreds of pounds worth of items were seized, including meat and beauty products. In custody, Power was further arrested on suspicion of stealing meat from a shop in Abbots Langley. Power was charged with three counts of shoplifting and appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 October.
