Attempted distraction burglary in Newmarket |
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted distraction burglary at a home on New Cheveley Road in Newmarket.
On Monday 10th November at approximately 5:30pm, two unknown male suspects entered a home claiming there was a water leak in the street, and they had to check the water pressure in the kitchen. The home-owner called a family member to speak to the suspects, but the suspects then left the home. Nothing was stolen.
Officers are reminding residents to be vigilant, especially those who are older and/vulnerable and not let anyone into homes uninvited. Further advice can be found here.
