Parcel Thefts Crime Prevention advice !

To prevent parcel thefts in the lead up to Christmas :

Avoid having packages left unattended on your doorstep by using secure locations and managing deliveries proactively: 

Track your parcels : Sign up for delivery alerts and track your parcels in real time to know exactly when they are due to arrive. 

Schedule deliveries : Whenever possible, arrange for packages to arrive when you or a trusted person will be home to receive them. 

Require a signature for high value items, select an option that requires a signature upon delivery to ensure it is handed directly to a person.  

Divert deliveries : Use courier apps or websites to reschedule or redirect deliveries if your plans change and you wont be home. 

Use off site lockers /pick up points : Utilize secure off site locker services, often found in supermarkets or local shops. collection points. 

Deliver to a trusted neighbor or work places if permitted. 

Designate a genuinely safe place : if you must have a parcel left , provide clear, specific instructions for a secure , hidden spot eg behind a locked gate , in a shed, or a waterproof storage box. 

invest in a parcel  delivery box a secure, lockable container outside your home.
