Your local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team will be sending out messages going forward with Crime Prevention information and this months notice is around Theft from a vehicle: 

🚗 Keep Your Vehicle Safe – Protect Our Community!

Vehicle crime can happen in seconds – let’s make it harder for thieves. Follow these simple steps:

✅ 1. Lock It Every Time
Even if you’re just popping back inside or paying for fuel, always lock your vehicle. Check mirrors fold in – it shows your car is secure.

✅ 2. Close Windows & Sunroof
Open gaps invite thieves to “fish” items out or unlock doors.

✅ 3. Secure Number Plates
Use tamper-resistant screws to stop thieves from stealing your plates.

✅ 4. Protect Your Wheels
Locking wheel nuts make it harder for thieves to steal alloys.

✅ 5. Lock Roof Racks & Boxes
Use cable locks or padlocks – and avoid leaving valuables inside.

✅ 6. Take It or Hide It
Phones, sunglasses, coins – even small items attract thieves. Replacing a window costs more than what’s stolen.

✅ 7. Hide Tech & Remove Clues
Don’t leave sat nav mounts, cables, or suction marks visible.

✅ 8. Protect Tools in Vans
Mark tools, store them in lockable cabinets, and consider cameras. Register valuables online.

✅ 9. Park Smart
Choose well-lit, busy areas. Thieves hate being seen.

✅ 10. Take Your Documents
Never leave registration or insurance papers in your vehicle.
