I am pleased to write to you with a good news update.
At 1121 yesterday, officers from Haringey Response Team arrested Brahim Kaddour-Cherif for the offences of being unlawfully at large. Kaddour-Cherif was located close to Finsbury Park having been subject to a manhunt led by the MPS following his mistaken release from HMP Wandsworth last week.
He has been taken to an MPS custody suite in East London where the MPS will work alongside the HMPPS regarding his return to prison.
Officers from across Haringey had been instrumental in the arrest of Hadush Kebatu ahead of his deportation for being unlawfully at large from Chelmsford prison. I’m sure you will join me in recognising the tenacity, vigilance and diligence of local officers in locating both Kebatu and Kaddour-Cherif in recent weeks.
Lastly, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the communities of Haringey for their support and assistance in this matter.
