Dear Resident
Here is a round-up of what has been happening in Willenhall South, New Invention, and Short Heath over the last couple of weeks.
We have had numerous reports of ASB in Western Avenue, Wolverhampton Road West and Bentley. This week has been very challenging with reports of youths throwing fireworks and causing criminal damage. A dispersal order was put in place starting at 18.00 hrs on 07/11 and will run for 24 hours. Any youths encountered will be dispersed and if they return to the location within the 24 hrs they will be arrested. Officers have been in the area from 16.00 hrs and will continue to be there until 22.00 hrs.
We have stepped up our patrols in Willenhall Town Centre and have seen a drop in calls to service regarding ASB.
On 04/11 we supported Councillor Simran Cheema and Max Newbold from Walsall Football Club in the 3 legged walk from the Lock museum in New Road to St Giles Primary School in Walsall Street. Radio presenters from BBC Radio WM started a 3 legged walk from The Molineux to Bescot Football Club for Children in Need. Every mile they have been joined by 2 volunteers who have walked a mile with them (ours being Simran and Max). They finished their mile at St Giles School where we were met by Pudsey and the school pupils who cheered the walkers as they arrived at school.
This was followed by a short penalty shootout between Pudsey and Walsall Football Club Mascot.
Also this week we have conducted 2 Police Surgeries – The Hive New Invention also in attendance was Anil Gill from WHG Queens Lea Community Centre also in attendance was the local Councillors from Short Heath Streetwatch on the Brackendale and Lodge Farm Estate
