Know your limits and pace yourself—alcohol affects judgment and coordination.

Keep an eye on your drink and never leave it unattended.

If you're feeling unwell or vulnerable, seek help—there are trained professionals ready to support you.

🛡️ Wigan Safety Haven

Located on King Street, the Wigan Safety Haven is open:

Fridays: 9pm–2am

Saturdays: 11pm–5am

It offers:

A safe space to rest or wait for transport

Help getting home

Phone charging

Support from trained staff and emergency services
This initiative is part of the Wigan Borough Community Safety Partnership, working to make nights out safer for everyone.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Safety Marshals patrol Wigan, Leigh, and Atherton town centres. They:

Offer guidance and reassurance

Help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour

Support anyone feeling unsafe or needing assistance [wigan.gov.uk]

🚖 Taxi Marshals

At the Wallgate taxi rank in Wigan, Taxi Marshals operate on Saturday nights (11pm–5am) to help you get home safely. [wigan.gov.uk]

🌧️ Be Weather-Wise

Dress warmly and wear shoes with good grip.

Avoid walking alone in poorly lit or unfamiliar areas.

📱 Stay Connected

Keep your phone charged and accessible.

Let someone know your plans and when you expect to be home.
