Door-stop scammers reported in Eckington

We’ve received reports from residents on Mary Street and Osmund Road, Eckington of four males in their mid-20’s visiting properties between 12:30-13:30 on Monday 3rd November 2025. They claimed to be from EE, stating that broadband services in the area were down and attempted to gain access to homes.

Please exercise caution:

Verify identity: Always request to see official identification before engaging with the individual.

Consult trusted sources: If in doubt, contact the company or organisation the individual claims to represent using official contact information. (Do not use a number they have provided you).

Avoid on-the-spot decisions: Do not feel pressured to make immediate decisions or payments

Do not allow anyone into your property unless you are certain of identity

Be sceptical of unsolicited offers: Be cautious of unexpected offers for services o requests for immediate payment.
