π₯ Bonfire Night Safety for Residents Bonfire Night (5th November) is a time for fun, fireworks, and community celebration β but itβs also important to stay safe. Please follow these safety tips to ensure everyone enjoys the night responsibly. π Firework Safety Only buy fireworks marked with the CE or UKCA safety mark.Follow the instructions carefully before lighting any fireworks.Keep fireworks in a closed box and only take them out one at a time.Never go back to a lit firework β even if it looks like it hasnβt gone off.Keep spectators at a safe distance β at least 25 metres for large fireworks.Keep pets indoors β loud noises can cause distress.π₯ Bonfire Safety Build bonfires well away from houses, sheds, fences, trees, and parked cars.Use only dry materials such as untreated wood β never use petrol, paraffin, or aerosols.Check for animals like hedgehogs before lighting your bonfire.Keep a bucket of water or sand nearby in case of emergency.Never leave a bonfire unattended and make sure itβs completely out before leaving or going to bed.π General Safety Be considerate of neighbours, especially those with pets or young children.π In an Emergency Call 999 immediately and ask for the Fire Service or Ambulance as needed.Do not take risks β move to a safe place and wait for emergency services.Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy Bonfire Night responsibly! π
