Sevenoaks Police Continue to Tackle Retail Crime in Sevenoaks

Kent police remain committed to addressing retail crime in Sevenoaks and continue to work closely with the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) to deter offenders and bring them to justice.

On Thursday 31 October 2025, officers responded to a report from Waitrose, Sevenoaks via the ShopSafe radio system regarding a suspected shoplifter. Patrols attended promptly and detained a male nearby. A stop and search was conducted, which returned negative results and no offences could be pursued on the day.

However, further investigation revealed suspicions that the same individual had entered the store five days earlier, on 25 October, and stolen approximately £750 worth of alcohol and meat products. The male was subsequently arrested, interviewed, charged, and bailed to court.
