Anti-social behaviour |
||
|
We’re aware of reports on social media of a small group of young boys engaging in anti-social behaviour at a retirement complex in Gloucester at the weekend. The boys were seen knocking on doors and windows of the complex, as well as posting stones through letterboxes on Saturday afternoon (1 November). Their actions have caused fear and anxiety among some of the elderly residents. We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour and would urge anyone who has been the victim of this type of anti-social behaviour to report it. While it may seem like harmless pranks, it can have a huge impact on vulnerable members of our communities, leaving them frightened to leave their homes. Now the clocks have gone back, and the evenings are getting darker, officers are targeting patrols to areas that are known to have seen an increase in reports of burglaries and anti-social behaviour over recent years. It is part of the annual Operation Switch, which aims to help residents better protect their homes during the darker nights whilst reducing the level of anti-social behaviour that is committed. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will also be engaging with local communities by taking part in leaflet drops, identifying potential issues at an early stage, promoting crime prevention advice and conducting house to house and CCTV enquiries for reported burglaries. More information on the campaign and ways to help protect your home can be found here: https://orlo.uk/G8zwi Anyone who has information about a burglary or anti-social behaviour that has taken place is asked to report this by calling 101 or submitting information by completing the following online form: https://orlo.uk/jezLL | ||
