Here’s a brief snippet of what our Smethwick Neighbourhood Team have been up to this week: What’s been happening A car suspected to be involved in drug related activity failed to stop for officers this vehicle was later found and recovered by police. A vehicle was stopped and searched along with occupants’ small number of drugs were located and occupants have been processed for this offence. Officers arrested a person for failing to appear at court Smethwick neighbourhood team have conducted a Joint traffic operation with Sandwell Council in relation to parking issues in Bearwood. Smethwick police officers have seized Multiple vehicles throughout the week for different offences like driving without valid insurance and without a valid driving license. Smethwick town PCSO conducted the cuppa with a copper at Smethwick library Supporting our local community with local issues. A Cuppa with a Copper was taken by local St Pauls Area PCSO of St Albans this was a good turn out and advice was given to local people who needed it. St Pauls PCSO's conducted a Street watch with local community members. Local officers conducted a meeting with senior leadership about how best to move forward regarding building relationships with the local communities and incorporating new innovative patrol strategies. Local patrols of Bearwood high Street were conducted by officers from Smethwick town keeping local businesses safe and reassuring the local community. Smethwick town officers have conducted visits to local places of worship Building bridges with our local community members offering reassurance. |
