South Wales Police are working to tackle anti-social behaviour in Baglan over the Halloween period. Officers will be out in the surrounding communities today conducting patrols and engagement tables to educate parents and young people in relation to acceptable behaviour over this busy period.

Many vulnerable members of our community can find this time of year difficult and frightening. Please be mindful of this if you or your friends or family are out trick-or-treating.

Our tips for a safe Halloween:

Children should always be accompanied by an adult when they are trick-or-treating

Only go to houses of people you know and who are happy for you to call

Stay safe, and keep to places that you know and are well-lit

Watch out for traffic as drivers might not see you

Carry a torch and a fully charged mobile phone (if you have one)

Remember - It's not fun for everyone

Anti-social behaviour covers a wide range of unacceptable activity that causes harm to an individual, to their community or to their environment. This could be an action by someone else that leaves you feeling alarmed, harassed, or distressed. It also includes fear of crime or concern for public safety, public disorder, or public nuisance.

Examples of anti-social behaviour include:

Nuisance, rowdy or inconsiderate neighbours

Vandalism, graffiti, and flyposting

Street drinking

Environmental damage including littering, dumping of rubbish and abandonment of cars

Prostitution related activity

Fireworks misuse

Inconsiderate or inappropriate use of vehicles

The police, local authorities, and other community safety partner agencies, such as Fire & Rescue and social housing landlords, all have a responsibility to deal with anti-social behaviour and to help people who are suffering from it.

Remember..

Note down all instances of ASB so you can report it to us or one of our partners.
