🔪 Operation Sceptre🔪 is a national initiative to tackle knife crime, running from 17th November until 23rd November 2025.
🔅 National week of action: Police forces across the country will be participating in coordinated weeks of action to tackle knife crime. Targeted operations: Police will be conducting targeted operations to remove knives from the streets. Community engagement: This includes educational outreach in schools and public events, such as knife surrender bins in community locations. Knife surrender bins: These will be available for the public to safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted knives without fear of questioning. Retail visits: Police will conduct visits to businesses to check on knife sales and help prevent knives from falling into the wrong hands.
🔅 How you can participate: Dispose of unwanted knives: If you have any unwanted knives, you can hand them in anonymously at a designated knife surrender bin. Report concerns: If you have information about someone carrying a knife, you can contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Stay informed: Check the social media accounts of your local police force for specific dates, locations, and times of events in your area.
