Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On 26th OCTOBER 2025, at approximately 1815hrs , PCSO RUSU 7047NW and PCSO FRASCATI 7050NW , were on routine patrols along BROOK AVENUE , EDGWARE , HA8 ,as they received reports previously from members of public that individuals are smoking drugs near to kids playground when is dark time. Whilst on patrols, officers noticed near the kids playground one male standing in the dark next to the trees and a hard smell of cannabis was coming from his side. Whilst officers approached the male , the smell of cannabis was getting stronger. At this point, officers asked the male if he is smoking any drugs and he confirmed by showing to officers one cannabis joint which he threw on the floor.
Officers seized the cannabis joint, inserted in evidence bag and sealed. PCSO RUSU 7047NW has issued one Anti-Social Behaviour Notice to the male and words of advice has been given to him as he was smoking cannabis near to kids playground.
Male was instructed to leave the area and to not coming back.


Is very important for members of public and residents to report any Anti -Social Behaviour in the area as we can focus on the hot spots to identify those which are committing crimes. Don't hesitate to report by calling 999 for emergencies, 101 for non emergencies, or to speak with our officers on patrols.
