Speed Enforcement Cockerham Village |
||
|
Good morning
Last weekend your local neighbourhood police officers continued to conduct speed enforcement on Main Street, Cockerham after concerns were raised by local residents.
The majority of drivers were well below the speed limit for the road, however a number were caught going too fast. These drivers were stopped and have been given a notice of intended prosecution, where depending on their speed and driver history they can be offered a speed awareness course, issued a fixed penalty notice (with points) or given a summons to court.
The fastest speed recorded was 44 MPH which is inexcusable for driving through a village.
You may recall my last update on conducting speed enforcement, where one was male was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence drugs. I can now update you that this male has been charged with drug driving after his blood was found to contain cannabis over the specified limit.
Did you know you can raise any local speed concerns you have on the link below and this will be tasked to your local neighbourhood teams; Speed Concern Submission – Lancashire Road Safety Partnership
