A visible presence on the streets to deter early evening burglary, an increased possibility at this time of year, was once again on the agenda today, with Rick visiting every street in the Parkside beat (5.72 miles). Traveling through Fels Field and north into Central Park, Alex Guy Gardens (6.20pm, p) and Wisdons Close were both visited.
It was then back through the park towards Luke Allsopp Square, Woodshire Road (e6.40pm) and Parkside House (7pm, p) where a few residents were returning home after the recent fire (11th October). From there, coverage included Hooks Hall Drive (7.05pm, p), Birch Gardens, Home Gardens, Fir Tree walk (7.18pm), Macdonald Avenue (7.27pm), Eastbrook Close and Felhurst Crescent (7.41pm), before Rainham Road South.
"It's my preferred time of the year to patrol, but also an important time. Over the past two evenings I've tried to be out at a time burglaries are more likely to happen if measures aren't put into place and when residents are returning home. Hopefully seeing a bit of uniform offers some reassurance."
