| Good evening Resident,
A short and sweet crime update this week.
Crime Reports A van was stolen from Highwood Avenue. The vehicle was having mechanical issues so was parked roadside to await recovery. In that time, the was stolen was stolen. It is unknown who took the vehicle or how they did it.
There was an attempt theft of motor vehicle on Ulleries Road. 2 men were seen approaching a pick-up truck on a driveway. 1 of them was seen holding a device up to the windows of the property. We believe this to have been some form a relay device. The other man tried the door handle on the truck. Security lighting came on and spoked the two men who left empty-handed.
There was a similar situation on Hobs Moat Road. On this occasion, the 3 male offenders managed to gain access to the victim's BMW by using a relay device. They were disturbed before they could steal the car though and left.

Good news PC Gilvray arrested a man for domestic-related offences which helped safeguard the victim and their family. The man turned up at the victim's property, refused to leave and even attempted to force his way in but PC Gilvray arrived and took the man in to custody.
More work is being done to help tackle the prolific shoplifting issue around the Hobs Moat shops. Evidence has been gathered, several offenders have been identified, with 2 of them being arrested and already serving sentences for their crimes.
Darker Nights The clocks have gone back and winter is coming (one for any Game of Thrones fans out there). The extended amount of dark hours means more opportunity for potential offenders. There are several steps you can take to bolster your home security. On top of the above three points, there are the usual home security measure. CCTV cameras, ensuring doors and windows are locked, window alarms, etc.
