GOODBYE

Well, the time has come for me to say goodbye.   After almost 5 years working for GMP this is my last day in the force (I’m off to pastures new).

I have met some fantastic people and groups during my time working in Heywood as your Police Community Support Officer.   Although my beat is officially Darnhill, Headyhill and the Summit areas – I have worked all over Heywood:

• arranging and attending events
• attending coffee mornings
• attending residents’ meetings
• conducting school visits
• attending various social groups
• setting up and running the drop-in surgery at Heywood police station
• successfully bidding and receiving funding to run several bike marking events
• working with Martin Brower haulage to deliver road safety to local primary school children
• working in partnership with Action Fraud to deliver fraud and safety advice to elderly and vulnerable residents
• spreading the word of Message in a Bottle with Heywood Lions

We are lucky to have so many wonderful people that give their time (either voluntary or paid) -  Darnhill Community Cafe, Back of the Moss community centre, Sandon House, Queens Park café and Crimble Croft community centre……. please continue to support these amazing venues – there’s lots going on in Heywood for both adults and children alike and you will receive a VERY warm welcome in every one of these places.

Please be kind to your local Neighbourhood policing team – they are a VERY small & understaffed team that do a fantastic job.
