🚨 Increased Police Presence in Maidstone Town Centre 🚨 |
||
|
You may have noticed more officers in Maidstone this weekend. On 25th October 2025, the Maidstone Town Team, supported by Special Constables, carried out traffic enforcement in the town centre.
đźš— Some of the town centre roads are restricted to: Blue badge holders accessing parking
đź“‹ In just 90 minutes, officers issued 36 tickets to road users: 1 vehicle was seized for no insurance
Why does this matter? Tackling low-level traffic offences often uncovers more serious issues—like uninsured drivers. According to Gov.uk, 1,602 people were killed on UK roads last year.
Driving responsibly, following road signs, and respecting pedestrian zones—like the high street—helps keep everyone safe. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
In addition to this we seized alcohol off people drinking antisocially in the town. We attended a report of a shoplifting and returned goods to three stores the two suspects were given a formal caution and made to pay for the goods. We also made two arrests in the town centre, one related to harassment of a shopkeeper and one related to fear of violence.
📍 We’re here to protect the public and make Maidstone safer for all. | ||
