We have had a report of a mini-moto bike being ridden in and around AVON Road in Pershore. We are trying to find out more information and have recently viewed some footage but unable to identify the person riding it. We will be increasing patrols in this area and would encourage anyone that see's them riding the bike to report it to us.
The Law around mini- moto and quad bikes can be found on the gov.uk website but here is an overview:
In the UK these bikes are considered motor vehicles and are illegal on public roads and pavements. They can only be legally ridden on private land with the owner's permission. To be legal on the road, a mini-moto would need to be registered, taxed, insured, have an MOT, have a valid number plate, and be ridden by a licensed driver wearing a helmet.
The Police can seize vehicles that are being used illegally on public roads or footpaths, or that are being used in an anti-social manner, causing alarm and distress or annoyance.
You can visit the West Mercia Police website and report there if you are not comfortable with doing it over the phone at www.westmercia.police.uk
