Dear Resident, Officers attended an address on Burnaby Road after a report from the owner of the property who rented it out stating that they believed cannabis was being grown at the property. Officers attended the address and located a total of 44 plants being grown at the address. The cannabis was seized from the address by the cannabis disposal team.
On Monday a male was arrested by our officers for repeatedly calling 999 without a genuine emergency. The man was issued with a Community Protection Notice a number of months ago which required the man to stop misusing the 9’s which he then breached. In one month alone we received approximately 70 calls. The man will now be going to Court. Community Protection Notices are serious and may result in a fine up to £2,500 for individuals and possible criminal prosecution and a Criminal Behaviour Order.
This Nissan Navara was located by officers parked up on a residential road. The vehicle was noticed by the officers on patrol as it was a model often stolen. The officers conducted checks on the vehicle and after running it through the police national computer (PNC) and conducted checks on the vehicles identification number (VIN). This showed that the vehicle was indeed stolen. The vehicle was recovered. This week has seen four vehicles seized by officers on patrols. One of the vehicles was seized on Thursday night after it was involved in an RTC where the driver then fled leaving the vehicle at the location with he keys still inside. The vehicle showed no insurance. On Thursday evening officers stopped and seized an Audi. The vehicle initially showed as insured based on the checks the officers did on the number plate the vehicle was displaying. Something didn’t feel right to the officers so they conducted further checks which showed that the vehicle was displaying false number plates. The correct details for the car were identified which showed the vehicle did not have road tax or any insurance. The vehicle was recovered. The 3rd vehicle came to the officers attention after a passenger in the vehicle was seen with a child sat on their lap in the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver was found to be driving on a provisional licence without the correct insurance.
The fourth Vehicle was this BMW seized by officers earlier today (Friday) as the driver did not have tax on the vehicle. The vehicle has had no Tax since April 2025.
Following on from last week we have conducted a number of visits this week to the children who were previously identified last week during CCTV checks and other enquiries.
