I am the administrator for Neighbourhood Watch in Reigate & Banstead. You are currently registered as a member of a Neighbourhood Watch in Merstham. Unfortunately your previous Watch Coordinator Caroline Slater moved away from Surrey in late 2024. As a result of concerns about increase in crimes and anti-social behaviour a new “Merstham” Watch is currently being formed that is currently planned to use facebook as its main communication mechanism as it is being built around an existing facebook group. It is possible that it might develop into providing email bulletins as well. The purpose of this email is to ask if you have any objections to the Watch of which you are a member being included within the area of this proposed new Watch. I should point out that if you do want to preserve the current Watch that covers a subset of Merstham it will be necessary for someone to take responsibility for running it as a new Coordinator. You may possibly already be involved in the activity if you are a member of the current facebook group. Please let me know if you would prefer not to participate in a Watch solely using facebook as it is not a communication mechanism that you wish to use. I will tell the people forming the new Watch as that may influence their plans. If they do add an email distribution I will give you details of that so you can apply to join if you wish. There is a plan for the new group to hold a public meeting provisionally set for Nov 4th but I will confirm that date and the venue if you express an interest to me.
