Dear Neighbourhood Watch Members The Metropolitan Police have launched a new drone programme to keep Londoners safe.
The Metropolitan Police have begun a Drone as First Responder (DFR) trial to speed up emergency responses. Remotely operated drones will launch within two minutes of 999 calls, sending live footage to officers and control rooms to help locate suspects, find missing people, and capture evidence.
The drones are faster, cheaper, and greener than helicopters and are currently being tested in Islington, with plans to expand to the West End and Hyde Park. If successful, the programme will become a key tool in improving safety and efficiency across London. Also, it’s not too late to sign up to the ‘Community Crime-Fighting Event on the 28th October - see attachment for details.

Best wishes
James Phillips Scheme Administrator, Waltham Forest.
