CPR Restart a Heart Event - 17th October 2025

Good morning Resident

I hope you are well. I am writing to let you know of a successful engagement event which took place on Friday 17th October 2025. “Restart a Heart Day” was on 16th October 2025. Under the Resuscitation Council UK's initiative, the London Colney Neighbourhood Policing Team ran a CPR and First Aid Event at the Caledon Community Centre in London Colney open to residents within St Albans. St John Ambulance kindly delivered training relating to CPR, Emergency First Aid, and using an AED Defibrillator. 

Part of the conversation led to residents who weren't sure on where their nearest AED Defibrillator is located and how to access it. To find out where your nearest Defib is, you can search on the following website: Defib Finder. Please note that some Defibs are not accessible to the public 24/7 so it is worth knowing a few near you. If you feel like there is not a Defib close enough to you, please reach out to your local Parish Councils or Councillors who may be able to support a funding application for this kit. 

I would like to express my thanks to those who attended the event, facilitated the event, and delivered the training. This was a wonderful example of positive Community Engagement showcasing how multiple agencies work in partnership to ensure we are hosting events that the public want.
