Rogue Trader Alert – Canterbury Area

We have received reports of a male knocking on doors in Canterbury, claiming he could see loose roof tiles and offering to carry out repairs. When the resident declined, the male continued visiting other houses in the area.

Be aware:

Rogue traders often use scare tactics about property damage to pressure you into unnecessary or overpriced work.

They may move quickly from house to house looking for vulnerable residents.

Protect yourself:
✔ Do not agree to work from cold callers.
✔ Always use trusted, verified tradespeople. If you need work done on your home or garden use a safe, local trader from KCC Trading Standards Checked: Trading Standards Checked
✔ Report suspicious activity to Kent Police on 101 or online.
✔ If you feel threatened or unsafe, call 999 immediately.
