Good News - Arrested!

At around 4pm on the 16th October, a residential burglary was reported at an address on RAEBURN AVENUE, SURBITON. Suspects made their way to the rear (via the side), forced entry, made an untidy search of the property and left the way they'd entered with stolen items.

Following another burglary in the borough later the same day, four suspects were arrested and linked to the earlier Surbiton burglary. All have been charged with both burglaries and the investigation remains ongoing. This swift action highlights the value of public vigilance and effective police work in keeping communities safe.

While arrests have been made, burglaries can happen quickly and often target easy opportunities. Here are a few simple steps to help protect your home and belongings:

Lock doors and windows - even when you're at home or just in the garden.

Use security lighting and consider installing a video doorbell or CCTV to deter offenders.

Keep side gates locked and ensure fencing is secure to restrict access to the rear of your property.

Don't leave valuables on display near windows or in vehicles parked outside.

Report suspicious activity immediately to the police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
