Another Busy Day for Piccadilly Gardens Officers as Team Secure Multiple Arrests and Charges |
||
|
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team once again showed their dedication to tackling crime and keeping Manchester city centre safe during a busy day on duty yesterday.
Half of the team were out on high-visibility patrols in and around Piccadilly Gardens, where their proactive policing led to the arrest of four individuals. The arrests were made for a range of offences, including breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), breaching a court order, breaching court-imposed bail, and locating a male wanted in connection with firearms offences in the Cumbria area. Their swift and coordinated action helped ensure that those intent on causing harm or disorder were swiftly taken off the streets.
Meanwhile, the other half of the team remained at the station, continuing investigations into an earlier arrest made on 20/10/25 for possession of a bladed article. Officers worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to secure charges for that male — including possession of a bladed article, possession of a weapon, and affray relating to a separate incident that took place within Piccadilly Gardens in recent weeks.
Sergeant Jon Wyatt, of the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team, praised the officers’ hard work and coordination:
“Yesterday was another excellent example of teamwork and dedication from the officers here at Piccadilly Gardens. While one half of the team was out making proactive arrests to keep our streets safe, the other half were securing charges to ensure offenders face justice. I’m proud of the professionalism and commitment shown — it demonstrates the breadth of work our officers carry out every day to protect the public.”
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team continue their focused efforts on tackling violent crime, enforcing court orders, and maintaining a visible presence to reassure the local community and visitors to Manchester city centre.
