Police and partners reiterate their support during Hate Crime Awareness Week |
||
Dear Resident Police and partners in Watford reaffirmed their commitment to tackling hate crime in Hertfordshire during annual Hate Crime Awareness Week (11-18 October). PC Danielle Murphy, Hate Crime Officer for Watford and Three Rivers, organised the awareness event in Watford, which was attended by the constabulary’s Chief Constable, Andy Prophet and Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan They first paid a visit to Shopmobility, a charity based in Watford town centre that provides free mobility equipment to those who would otherwise struggle to independently run errands. They spoke to the team about the work they do, before presenting them with newly designed anti-hate crime posters designed by local schoolchildren. Later the same day they visited Watford Football Club, which is another third-party reporting centre for hate crime. Following an introduction by the Chief Constable, Danielle spoke about her role as a Hate Crime Officer, sharing how she and her fellow HCOs support victims of discrimination in Hertfordshire.
