Update from your Neighbourhood Policing Team |
||
Dear Resident
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) play a vital role in crime prevention and community engagement across the district. They conduct patrols, support Neighbourhood Policing Team colleagues with operations and attend local events to pass on advice to residents of all ages. Here’s just a small snapshot of what they’ve been up to over the past week: • A police surgery was held at Maylands Plaza in #HemelHempstead, where people could discuss concerns and get advice and information. • The team visited an infant school in #Berkhamsted as part of their ‘what I want to be when I grow up’ project. • An event was held at #Tring Library as part of Get Online Week. Advice was given around staying safe online and avoiding scams. • As part of Hate Crime Awareness Week, the team visited a primary school in #Tring to give a talk on the subject. • PCSOs accompanied NPT colleagues on patrols around #Berkhamsted, where they stopped by St Peters Church to talk to those attending a Jewish celebration. Alongside the NPT, Dacorum is also policed by officers who respond to emergency calls, a team of detectives who investigate crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units who work to tackle issues such as acquisitive crime and domestic abuse. In addition, they can call on officers from central teams which work countywide.
