Saturday 25th October - Licensing update |
||
|
All, On Saturday 25th October, the following matches will take place: The games have been categorised as Low Risk and there will be a policing operation in place. There is no information or intelligence around these fixtures in terms of the risk of disorder. However, it’s extremely rare that The Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford are used for games at the same time. On top of this, it will be a typical busy Saturday afternoon with the games finishing at the start of the night time economy. There is also an event at the AO Arena which is also low risk but will increase numbers further. Whilst the risk of disorder is low, with no historic rivalries or issues between those involved, the sheer numbers of people who will be in Manchester for the two games will present extra challenges for police, the transport network and for licensed premises. There is likely to be a large mix of fans from other teams who aren’t playing in either of the above fixtures, and additionally, Bolton play Cardiff earlier in the day (12:30KO) so fans from those teams may pass through the City Centre.
