Dangerous Anti-Social Behaviour on Bus Route – Broseley High Street |
||
We are appealing to the public for information following two incidents of anti-social behaviour involving a group of youths who deliberately stopped the Number 8 bus on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th October during the early evening on Broseley High Street. On both occasions, the youths pressed the emergency stop button causing the bus engine to shut down, this may seem like a harmless prank to those involved but resulted in a loss of power steering — a highly dangerous situation that put passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at significant risk. These reckless acts could have led to serious injury or worse. The incidents have caused alarm and distress to the driver and passengers, and now Arriva drivers are concerned about the safety of the route. We are deeply concerned about the implications of these events and are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents or has any information about those involved to come forward. We have formally requested CCTV footage from Arriva to assist in identifying the individuals responsible. We ask for your help: If you have any information, please contact your Safer Neighbourhood Team at bmw.snt@westmercia.police.uk or if you wish to remain anonymous you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. These actions are not harmless pranks — they are actions that could endanger lives. We must work together to ensure our community remains safe. | ||
