PCSO SETHI and PCSO POW attended the Katina Ceremony at Loxford School on Loxford Lane and engaged with the Buddhist Community, promoting Met Engage and VAWG. Katina Ceremony is a significant Buddhist festival marking the end of three month rain retreat (VASSA) where laypeople present new robes and other requisites to the monastic community. This act of generosity, known as the Katina robe offering, strengthens the bond between monks and lay communities and its an act of generosity and support for the monks and nuns who have spent three months in retreat. The ceremony involves chanting, a ceremonial procession of the robe and the final offering to the senior monk.
