Bike Marking |
||
Adur & Worthing PoliceGood Morning Resident, A bike theft victim was reunited with their stolen bike this week all thanks to' Bike Register'. The bike that was reported as stolen in Worthing in September was located dumped at the side of the road by officers, realising the bike was likely to be stolen as it had 'Bike Register' markings on it they checked with the company who were able to provide the officers with details of the owner. The owner was contacted and the bike returned to them. PCSO Ed Mitchell from the Worthing Neighbourhood policing team said " This is a great result and shows the benefit of registering your pushbike with Bike Register, without it the officers who found the bike may have struggled to identify that the bike was stolen or trace the owner so easily. If you would like to have your bike marked and registered with 'Bike Register' we have another bike marking event planned for Thursday 30th Oct outside Splash point Swimming Pool, 5pm to 6pm, volunteers from Neighbourhood Watch will be there to support us. Please bring proof of ID with you to register your bike.
