Request to help publicise Consultation on the reorganisation of Health and Care Services in Lambeth |
||
From Philip Virgo as Development Lead for Neighbourhood Watch in Lambeth
The Neighbourhood Watch network is now the main means of reaching those who do not respond to texts, phone calls or e-mails for fear of being scammed. I have therefore been asked to contact you to help publicise (via your local networks) the current consultation on how health and care services are delivered in Lambeth.
Barely a third of those who attended the recent Digital Horizons event had the NHS App already installed on their phones. Barely half of them had ever used it. By contrast, most had used Whatsapp, presumably to talk with friends and family. Most most of them had experience of abuse and/or attempted fraud.
This makes it particularly important to not only organise many more such events but also to better inform those seeking to encourage all of us to communicate electronically with local health and welfare services,
= = = Help shape health and care services in your neighbourhood! Lambeth is changing the way care is delivered by offering more services in the community - closer to home and outside of hospital settings. The aim is to develop neighbourhood teams that bring together professionals to help people stay healthy, live more independently and avoid unnecessary hospital visits. At first, neighbourhood teams will focus on: · Children and young people with complex needs · People with multiple long-term conditions · People who are frail · People who need mental health support If you live in Lambeth, have a Lambeth GP, or care for someone living in Lambeth - Healthwatch Lambeth wants to hear from you. Take their survey and share what matters to you, what support you need, and how services can work better for you. You can complete the survey at http://bit.ly/46Jk1lV or by calling Healthwatch Lambeth at 020 7274 8522. = = =
The scale and nature of the changes to Community Health currently under way, both locally and nationally, are profound.
Please reply to this e-mail, including the contact e-mail you would like used, if you would like to join a group to work with Healthwatch Lambeth and the Lambeth Primary Care Networks to improve the information available to you and those you support, on who to contact, for what and how to do so.
I would particularly like to hear from those of you who work in Health Care. including as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, receptionists or administrators, and have practical experience of how current systems work.
