Good Afternoon Resident
Chelmsley Wood Newsletter, 18/10/25
It’s been a week of School visits, talks, assembles & playground patrols for the PCSO’s. We have been talking to years 5 & 6 about darker nights, Halloween & Bonfire Night, discussing staying safe and appropriate behaviour in the community. When, where and how to Trick & Treat. Making them aware of our ‘No Trick or Treat’ cards and talking about the many reasons why residents don’t take part and won’t answer the door. No-one wants to spoil the children’s fun, it’s great that they are excited to show off their costumes, but it is also important that they respect everyone in their neighbourhood and they learn what the consequences to causing Anti-Social Behaviour in the local community are. Next week I will drop these cards into the library, our community centres and some of our local shops.
I had a lovely time visiting the Stay & play session at the Onward Club on Wednesday morning. We acknowledge that those with young families find it hard to attend evening meetings and drop in sessions, so we take our crime prevention advice and goodies to them. What a great play/meet up this is, every Wednesday 09:30 x 11:30hrs at the Onward Club, Helmswood Drive. If you have pre-school little one’s pop by and you will be sure to receive a warm welcome. Remember if you would like us to pop along to a group that you attend to drop me a reply to this message. Next week I will be at Three Trees before the very well attended music session on Wednesday, see dates below.
Officers have been very active too this set of shifts, 4 arrests and lots of behind the scenes work. Including preparing files and even a Juvenile Court visit for two of our PC’s. Walsall had their Op Advance all out day this week and one of our Police Officers went over there to support them. Whilst supporting the Response Team last night 3 people were arrested for Affray after a fight broke out in Kingshurt. When incidents like this happen all officers pull together whatever team they work on, we are one Police Force working together to serve & protect our communities.
