Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

There have been a few theft of vehicles over the last few days. Please see the below for details:

Crime ref-41/ 97876/25

On the 15th October 2025 between 01:00 and 07:00 a theft of a vehicle occurred in FARRIERS WAY in BOREHAMWOOD.

A white Toyota Estate was parked on the drive way when it was stolen. Both sets of keys are still with the victim.

Crime ref 41/98221/25

Between the 14th October at 18:00 to 15th October at 16:00 a blue Ford Fiesta was stolen from GATESHEAD ROAD in BOREHAMWOOD. It was parked outside the victims home address.

Crime ref 41/98674/25

Between the 16th October at 22:30 to the 17th October at 08:30 a black BMX X5 was stolen from NICHOLAS ROAD in ELSTREE. The vehicle was parked on the drive way at the time of the theft and the victim has both sets of keys.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
