Items seized after a licensing visit at local shops

Today PCs Josh Taylor and Gavin Gillam, along with other local Police officers attended some shops on Lavender Hill to carry out checks that the businesses were operating in line with the conditions of their premises licences. Trading Standards officers were also with us. Some small breaches of licences were found and will be reported to the council's licensing department, but no criminal offences were discovered.

In addition, the Trading Standards officers found single-use disposable vapes in store rooms at two shops. Only re-usable vapes have been allowed to be sold since 1st June this year and these disposable vapes were seized, and will be recycled. 400 vapes were seized from the first shop (in the two plastic sacks in the picture) and a further 300 from the second shop.
