ASB AND SHOP THEFT

Good afternoon Resident,

Yesterday a group of youths were stopped in the CO-OP in Snodland while shoplifting. Two of the youths were stopped searched under section 1 of the Police And Criminal Evidence Act and the stolen items were recovered. The youths have been banned from the store and will be issued community resolutions (out of court disposal). In additional to the theft one of the youths was found in possession of 2 catapults which have been seized. This youth was later linked to sightings in Aylesford earlier that day. The catapult will be destroyed. 

This was a case of being in the right place at the right time as I was collecting CCTV in relation to an earlier incident whereby a drunk male had been arrested on Malling Road as he was outstanding for two counts of ABH and one count of sexual assault by touching. He also assaulted a police officer while he was being arrested. 

Youths with catapults continue to be a nuisance in the local area but will be dealt with if found in possession of them. Please keep calling incidents involving catapults as it gives police an area where to target.
