Operation Treacle

Good afternoon Residents of Stockport,

I am writing to you as the local Neighbourhood Insp for Stockport Central Policing area to highlight some of the work that will be taking place over the next couple of weeks to maintain public safety, protect property and minimise anti-social behaviour during the Halloween and bonfire period - Operation Treacle. 

We will be working in partnership with the Fire service, Stockport Council, Stockport Homes, Youth Offending services and members of the community to identify and deter those involved in antisocial behaviour. We will have increased visibility and officers dedicated to these associated incidents to respond and deal in a timely and robust manner. We will be working with licenced premises to ensure that safe securing of fireworks and appropriate selling is taking place.

We want to ensure that people are able to enjoy the period with friends and families in a responsible way.
