Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening: There have been further arrests made since the beginning of this month. 2 of which have been arrested have been for Burglary offences and also being wanted for different Assaults matters. This resulted into successful charges of those individuals, preventing further harm to the community and businesses. More vehicles are being seized for no tax and we are continuing this work and DVLA are supporting the area conducting ANPR patrols. Parking enforcement are continuing their patrols around the Yew Tree regarding the concerns around illegal parking. They are finding a reduction in vehicles being parked illegally. This is good news as this is showing their presence including our own is supporting the area in reducing this. We know this is still a concern to many in the community and we will continue this work with parking enforcement. Officers have been assisting with this and have also issued 22 parking fines since the beginning of this month. We are aware there has been a few Theft of and from vehicles and bike thefts. We are doing everything we can to assist the investigations to identifying the offenders and collecting all evidence required for these. Our Business Watch meetings have been arranged. Letters and communication on this will be sent out in due course to all businesses. We are asking many to ensure they attend these meetings to discuss any issues or concerns they are facing. We are facing more changes with the Neighbourhood Restructure and we are currently asking all to bear with us on this. Our team numbers have reduced to assist in reducing the demand on Neighbourhood. This is good news as we will be back out in the community more. We hope to see more staff coming our way with the new uptakes of new Police Constables and PCSO’s. We currently have 2 new PCSO’s with us out on the beat and you may see these around. If you wish to see who is on the team you can do so by clicking on our main web-page.We have some Crime Prevention Stands taking place in the coming months. One of them will be 16/10/25 between 13:00-15:00. This being focused on the upcoming seasonal events of Darker nights, ASB, Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas! In between this we will also be doing a Violence against Women and Girls stand. This will be around the White Ribbon campaign day in November. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this one. In the coming weeks, we have also planned a walk through with the council and counsellors regarding certain roads having specific issues that we are working together to reduce the ongoing problems the residents are facing. We have also organised for our Road Harm Prevent team to come over and help with off-roaders in the area. If you have information on this please submit this below.
