Possible cold caller fraud

Good Morning,

An incident in the last 24hrs in your area has come to my attention of possible fraud / burglary where money was taken. 

On Wednesday 15th October 2025 between 0900-0930hrs, an unknown male attended an address in the Rose Garden area as a cold caller and managed to get money from the victim. 

The unknown subject was described as a white male aged in his 50's of large build wearing a flat cap, yellow high visibility vest with a blue long sleeve top underneath, navy jeans and green wellington boots. The vehicle he had was possibly a dark coloured Mercedes.  

If you have information or CCTV of this male or his vehicle, can you please contact police quoting log 168 15/10/25.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind people to be vigilant of cold callers and to never let them in to your homes, give them cash up front for any proposed work and to check / take copies of any ID they have. In addition to this, can we please look out for each other, especially any vulnerable neighbours you may have.
